Findern

Findern is a village and Civil Parish in the rurals of South Derbyshire, approximately 6 miles south of Derby. The village offers a peaceful rural setting, with a variety of character properties and traditional white walled homes centred around the picturesque village green.

There is a Parish Church within the village and the renovated Parish Rooms and Village Hall offer plenty of activities for the community to get involved with. In the centre, a post office, hairdressers and tea rooms can be found, and within a mile of the village green is the Nadee Canalside Curry House offering gourmet Indian cuisine with canal views. There is childrens’ day nursery in the village as well as the Findern County Primary School which feeds into the highly regarded John Port Academy in Etwall.

The Trent & Mersey canal lies a short walk away from the village where many idyllic walks through the Derbyshire countryside can be enjoyed whilst colourful canal barges float by. The village is 6 miles from Derby city centre which offers a comprehensive array of shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and other leisure facilities including gyms and a cinema.
