Newborough

The popular village of Newborough caters well to family life, being home to an array of activities and clubs such as a thriving Toddlers group and the new play area Riverside Park. The Needwood Primary School is within the village and feeds into John Taylor High School in Barton under Needwood.

The village has a population of approximately 800 and lies in a narrow dale, through which the River Swarbourn flows southward to the Trent. Young families can take advantage of a thriving toddlers club, primary school, youth club and new play area, Riverbank Park.

Steeped in tradition, Newborough is a village that enjoys paying homage to is past while more than adequately providing for the present. Among its popular annual customs is May Day well dressing, where three watering holes are colourfully decorated before being blessed.

Local villages are in close proximity, with Hoar Cross within 1 mile, Yoxall within 4 miles, and the Cathedral City of Lichfield being within 12 miles, having two train stations providing links to Birmingham (from the City centre Station) and Stafford (from Trent Valley), and town of Burton on Trent being a little over 5 miles away (distances approximate).
